SMR (Security Market Research) Plotting Figures Glossary SL - Is the fast moving solid line oscillator at the bottom of our charts. Also known as Solid Line or Timing Line. DL - Is the slower moving dotted line oscillator at the bottom of our charts. Also known as Dotted Line or Direction Line. 49 Day - Forty nine day moving average displayed on the charts themselves as a dotted line. Open - Market opening price. High - Market intraday high price. Low - Market intraday low price. Close - Market final settlement price. SLTURN - Displays the price that the market would have to reach in order to change the direction, U(up) or D(down), of the SL. For example if the SLTURN is 77.00 D, the SL will turn down if the market closes at or below 77.00. If the SLTURN is 77.00 U, then the market would have to close at or above 77.00 to turn the SL up. PTRN - Market patterns are placed in this column, the patterns are read from right to left. For example ID/OD/ID-NR7, today is represented by ID-NR7, yesterday is OD, two days ago is also an ID. NR7 - Narrow Range Seven: Today has the narrowest range (high minus the low) of this markets last seven days. OD - Outside Day: The high for a particular day is greater than the high from the previous day and the low for that particular day is less than the low for the previous day. Looking at a bar chart you will see that the days range engulfs the prior days range. ID - Inside Day: The high for a particular day is lower than the high from the previous day and the low for that particular day is greater than the low for the previous day. Looking at a bar chart you will see that the prior days range engulfs the day being looked at. B/S - Displays the A & B type mechanical signals that are shown on our charts.
